Welcome back , We missed you !. I just wanted to let you that over at Error 404 im running 27 nets , 26 are ftn style and one qwk and the
board is banging , running good and callers have really picked up . And
I just wanted to say thanks for everything !. Also if you ever need a remote test PC let me know . I have couple window 10 systems sitting on shelf , or you can use Error 404 . Any who its great to have you back !
Awesome to hear! I am considering picking up either a cheap laptop or
Pi 4 for a BBS. I have my BBS on an old laptop but its bulk, loud,
slow, and probably eats up power. I am leaning towards a cheapo
$200-300 range laptop so I have more flexibility to move it between Windows/Linux should I want to test it.
Your fsxNet node number is sitting here for you if/when you want to hook back up. :)
I have to get my BBS laptop out of storage and going again but I would like to do that soon(ish). I put it away temporarily because I have a crazy lack of space where I am right now.

All good just sing out when ready.
You're welcome to create an account at Agency also if that helps.

Hey g00r00, let me know if a cloud VM slice sounds interesting to you
and I'm happy to sponsor one suitable for running a BBS.
I might be interested. At this point its looking like somehow my laptop was stolen? Its completely gone from storage and I need to try to
figure out how that happened.

Like I said, I'm happy to sponsor a digitalocean droplet. Avon has
emailed me in the past, if you'd like to get in touch he has my info. You'd be on linux, not windows, but I hardly doubt that's an issue :)

So I went to get my laptop yesterday evening and it seems to be gone. I am shocked. I have no idea how it could have got stolen (or even if it did) but its not there.
Its a shame too because I had just put at 500g SSD in it.

I offered him a Windows VM that only he could remote into when he was having hardware issues a couple years ago, but he never took me up on
it. I'd be happy to donate whatever OS he'd need again, but I'm still
not sure he'd take me up on it. =)
Crap... that barks big time. Hopefully it could still be filed somewhere you just haven't looked yet? I recall you getting that SSD too. Very
sorry to hear of the loss.
I offered him an ArcaOS VM as well so he could develop an OS/2 port of
the software (if we are talking about Mystic here) which would be
totally awesome! :)
I'm sure I could get something working if I put some time into it, but really there might be one person who'd run the OS/2 version if that even so I am reluctant to make it a priority.

Yeah...if it were me I wouldn't bother with OS/2 :P May as well try
to port it to amigaos or something at this rate.
That would be cool! I've actually been toying with that idea myself.. probably nothing will come of it though.

No one has been able to get any version of OS/2 or Arca working with USB sticks in a VMware for me, so that has been mostly the requirement for the past 10 years if we want an OS/2 version again.
I need an easy way to test and develop on it and to move code quickly betwee
systems if I need to, and I don't have that.

there might be one person who'd run the OS/2 version if that even so I am reluctant to make it a priority.
Also OS/2 API information is nearly impossible to find, and if I remember in
the past I had to do a lot of bug fixes for the OS/2 compiler too because no
one is using it.

Hmm. Yeah, I don't run ArcaOS under VMWare. I run it under
VirtualBox. It has better OS/2 and ArcaOS support.
