• Lighbar mods

So I've tried out few Mystic lightbar MPL mods (XQ-FMAG, BT-GASEL), but none
of the "join area" functions seem to work for me on Linux? They both hang for
a few seconds, then print out a bunch of junk characters.

Wondering if/how anyone has been able to get any of these working on linux? I see them around on other BBS and they look pretty cool.

Frankly I'm not sure where to begin here. I have no issues on my end. What errors do you see? WHat's in logs?

Nothing in the logs, other than the MPL script executed. But when I'm in the message menu and hit "A' get, there's a long pause -- about 15 seconds --
then the lightbar menu appears. The menu Ansi looks correct, but the area lighting has garbage characters (ansi char happy face, and the word "msgheadandimrd" multiple times. I can lightbar through these words, but it's super laggy. And hitting enter takes me to I suppose the correct place.

Weird, right? Happens on both the XQ and Gasel versions of the mods...

I'm not sure what those are to comment on similarities but Mystic has something like what you're describing built in for selecting areas.

I believe you can use the "index reader" command to create area selectors for both message and file bases. I just don't know if it will work in the style that you're looking for though.

Oh, that's great! I'd much rather try and do this natively in Mystic. Thanks!
