Do you have it configured to create when you log out not when the
message is posted? I think that is the default setting.
It is set to create it when the message is posted. I even tried logging off, and then back on, and it still didn't create the semaphore.
Thanks for taking a look at this.
I can't reproduce it. My BBS runs on Linux/64 too and works entirely
off of the semaphore/event system so that seems to be working for me. I am sure you checked this but could it be possible the BBS user can't access the semaphore directory that is defined in the configuration? Is it just this semaphore?

This is actually on the Win7/32 hub system.

I'm typing this reply from that system, logged in locally. We'll see what happens.
I just installed a fresh A44 on Windows XP and its working fine for me.
I tested both Logout and as posted types.
Are you using anything that is checking for that semaphore? The first
time I tested it on my Linux machine the semaphore was found, processed and removed before I even had a second to list the semaphore directory
lol. Is the base type set to Echomail?
Just trying to see what I could do to reproduce this. Although I think
if this were a wide-spread issue its something that everyone would notice immediately.

Paul, do you log into the hub locally, or via telnet/ssh?
I'm not sure how many people log in locally... Maybe I'll set up the telnet server in MIS, and see if I can reproduce it that way...
At one point, I was trying to get this Mystic system set up as a QWK
hub. It wasn't working, so I abandonded the idea.
However, the message bases still had the QWK id numbers set in the
config, so Mystic was creating the QWKMAIL.OUT semaphore file, which didn't have an event set up to check...
