Is there an easy way to use a specific ANSIMRD.ANS for e-mail,
and another specific ANSIMRD.ANS for regular message bases?

The reason I'm asking is because users have access to (D)elete e-mail as they read it, but they can't (D)elete messages in message bases (unless it's their own message.) So, using the same ANSIMRD.ANS (which lays out all the commands for them) is not ideal to use for both e-mail and regular message bases.

Does someone have a solution for that?

    Thanks.

Look in your message board settings. Look at the Header, Read Template, List Template.

Friend, please spend some time with the software a bit. You'll learn more and the education you get will serve you better. I'm plenty willing to help, but I'm beginning to think we're edging on a case of RTFM.

Use the wiki, explore the software, pay attention to what each option does (which System Config gives you a status line help for just about every option on there), and read/search the WHATSNEW section on the wiki. After you've exhausted it, write it down and mull on it for a bit. You'll be richly rewarded.

Also, the MPL documentation, though outdated DOES contain a list of MCI codes that are useful for your header. Make use of that too.

    Happy BBSing! :)

I offered up the same information. I don't want him to feel like he can't ask questions here but I do know that when you're stuck, it's easier to ask the experts. One point here is that you'll learn more doing it yourself then the quick acute answer.

    You're right!

Im fairness, Mystic's "manual" isn't always easy to read :)

There is the outdated old school "doc" file, the wiki, and the whatsnews. Everything is there, but not always easy to find.
