  • Setting up fidonet, AKA, and no matching address to authenticate

    So i'm trying to get fidonet set up
    my NC has told me the address is
    1:138/146 and AKA of 1:138/0

    his BINKP host is lookglas.tzo.com

    I have set him up as echomail node 4 1:138/146 with the FIX password I was given
    BINKP i put in his host and the session password i was given
    I set route info to 1:*

    I don't know how to make an AKA of 1:138/0

    I tried changing his entry to 1:138/0 instead of 1:138/146 and it didn't see
    to help.

    I sent areafix messages to both addresses when i had them configured and bounced mis in between tests.

    When i send an areafix message it appears to send out fine, i don't see any errors on mmy side, but periodically i see him connecting to me and getting this

    Also weird, when mutil mailin runs it is only showing LINKS: node1=3 node4 doesn't show up there, but it is clearly configured and ACTIVE.

    That is just "Also Known As" You could create a second link for that node also but you would always send to and get from 138/146.

    Yep, always connect file & message areas to 138/146 unless he says otherwise.

    That looks like it's not finding an address in coman to authenticate.

    Be sure you set the domain to fidonet. The domain is part of the address for authentication.

    Orly?? I had the domain just set to fido
    this is probably the issue

    That seems to have at least gotten me some inbound netmail.

    Now I just need him to fix his side's areafix

    Has he added you to IREX? Have you restarted MIS?

    Al had it right, it was because i used the domain fido and not fidonet
