• Get all (old) messages with fidopoll

From volker@21:1/999 to All on Mon Mar 30 23:16:44 2020
    Hi,

    Last question for the day...

As it seems I am only getting the most recent messages when I first did a fidopoll.

Is there a way I can also poll for older messages, let's say up to 90 days
ago, to fill my echoes with a bit of life?

    Thanks,
    Volker

You can send a rescan request through areafix to your hub I believe it
%rescan, R=50 or however many messages you want to go back..

Yes, whenever you poll you will only get new messages.

Yes, you can do a rescan if you link supports that, and in the case of 21:1/100
    running Mystic it is supported.

Running a /999 node you may not be able to send netmail to areafix but once you do have a node number you will be able to send a netmail to Areafix at your
hub and put rescan commands in the message and Areafix will do for you as you ask. To rescan an area you are connected to you would send this to Areafix..

    =rescan FSX_GEN

    Or maybe..

    =rescan FSX_GEN R=500

to get the last 500 messages. You send messages to areafix at your link with your password on the subject line and commands in the body of the message.

You can get a help message by netmailing Areafix with "%help" in the body of the message.

I don't think that will work for the /999 node but you can do that once you get
    a regular node number setup.

You can look at the help message, it's in your data directory in the file areafixhelp.txt.

    Hi,

Thanks a lot. I will probably wait until I get my node number, then.
