• Mystic's Web Server?

From Jeff Smith@21:1/128 to All on Wed Apr 1 01:20:06 2020

    Hello everybody!

Since the switch from BBBS over to the current version of Mystic
here I have been exploring Mystic's web server capabilities. I have
been wanting to add pages hosted by Mystic that use PHP files to
function. I would also like to add links to the filebase but I may
have to provide direct links to file groups and individual files.

Has anyone explored Mystic's HTTP capabilities and limitations?

Some nodes have if you search back through the posts here you will see some chatter on this topic and there are systems running that are making use of it.

I use the simplest of pages for my own setup:
    mystic/webroot/www:

my ALLFILES.TXT goes there and gets updated weekly and is a direct link from
    my .com address

COX blocks any web hosting ports now, so I run them offline on a server but link back to my local pages through a router. Accessing my local index.php redirects back out to the server site.

I have tried the HTTP capabilities.. Like everyone else is saying it is very basic.. I created a website with Mobrise it worked but it felt slow to me. I turned around and found a video on Appache I installed that and now run a
full blown (as full blown as I can make it by hand) with Apache, and it runs
in the same VM my mystic is running in..

Yeah, I have run Apache2 several times as a front end to BBS's. Maybe at some point in the future g00r00 will add more web server capabilities to Mystic.
