In the last week or so ive gotten roughly 2500 dupes? Is this
something with my system? Or is anyone else having this happen?
I haven't seen much of anything at all in the way of dupes, at least not in fsxNet. Were these dupes in fsxNet?
No sorry Al I posted in the wrong spot my bad.. Its fido and in
particular SYNCDATA echo that is posting them all..

Do you have Dovenet setup as well as Fidonet?
Do you have Dovenet setup as well as Fidonet?
That's another good point. Reading the what's new I see Mystic now has
the ability to gate between ftn <-> QWK although I haven't looked at
that at all and don't know how it works.
If you have dove-net by QWK on your board make sure there is no echo tag or linked FTN nodes.
I believe you still need an echotag so your QWK setup knows what it's pulling from Vertrauen. It should just be different than the echotag
for Fidonet.
None of my dove-net QWK areas have an echo tag defined. I think the
areas are all pulled in based on QWK Network and QWK Base ID.
I guess if someone was gateing they would need an echo tag as well, but
I don't think anyone will be gating DOVE-Net.

If I'm guessing correctly and he indeed has both networks installed, gating between the two may be what's happening, but not intentionally.
The problem
is that the echotag is the same for both networks, so when a message gets posted in one echo, it gets saved to both. I believe I changed my Dovenet echotag to be SYNC_DAT or something, so the two wouldn't be the same.
Now that I think of it, it may be every Synchronet related echo that is a part of both networks. SYNCHRONET is another, and SYNCPROG may be another one.

Maybe you're conflating internal-codes with area-tags? Even if the sysop accidentally use the same internal-code for multiple sub-boards, he'd
have to explicitly enable gating between net-types.
I am exploring a issue where I send out a message from my point to my
bbs and then I get it back to my point as a new unread message? Anyone have this going on with a point system? Before anyone hollars that I posted this already in fido mystic I am doing this on purpose and not to annoy anyone I just want to see if Fsxnet behaves the same...<VBG>
what software is the point and the BBS that is feeding the point running Rick?

what software is the point and the BBS that is feeding the point running
Rick?
So I have two point setups and they both have the same result. Winpoint
on one, and binkd, husky and golded on the other. I use my mystic bbs as my boss to my points, what I can see is when I upload from my point
(poll) mystic (my bbs) gets messages and poll its boss node (SBBS) then
it comes back through normal polling and gets sent as a new unread
message to my point? Seems like that shouldnt happen, since it originated here.
