Perhaps this message is to xqtr, because there was a message from him to this base at some point in the past about dealing with the issue.
Anyway, issue:
Trying out the ibfs script again, which worked the first time I tried it. But today I tried it again, and after that my BBS would attempt to run the Python script, but would immediately disconnect.
The logs gave the error message:
An error has occured: Corrupted memory (216)
Which others have faced (e.g., when switching Linux distros), and previously g00r00 said it might be due to some Python2 issue, and there's a guide for compiling Python so as to make it behave:
http://wiki.mysticbbs.com/doku.php?id=python_install
I had previously followed these instructions, though with 2.7.18 instead of 2.7.15. And the ibfs script ran okay the first time I tried a search a few
days ago.
I also tried deleting my fsx_dat messages, and while it stopped crashing
after I did it, it started crashing again as soon as I sent another search
(for "bulletin", BTW) through.
And I went through those directions again, though I did not uninstall Python first -- just compiled it again. Perhaps I should try that next. Other Python scripts run, for whatever that's worth.
The only other thing I recall doing around that time was running apt update/upgrade, but I think I did that after my BBS started crashing.
Anyone with other ideas? I'm at a loss as to what I possibly would have
changed to cause it.
