Hi All,
I just wanted to let everyone know that I've been working on some MPL programs that are running on Castle Rock. I haven't released any of them yet, as I'm still testing and tweaking them.
Scrollz Announcements
This is a completely configurable scrolling text banner. All of the options are inside an INI file, including up to 10 different messages to display. The display field can be adjusted to whatever length and placement you would like on your menu. Even the color of the display is configurable!
BBS Reviews
This was an MPL that I had found in my file base, and no idea who the author is/was. It was written in an older version of MPL, so it needed
to be updated. I have continued to work on it, with the help of The Godfather. There are now many more options included. You can add your
BBS, review other BBS's, telnet to those BBS's, leave comments on
other's reviews, leave anonymous reviews, and more.
RCS Who's Online
This was written so the standard user listing could be sorted by
different fields, including name, location, last login, etc. Nothing
fancy on this one, it just works well and does what I wanted it to. :)
OneLiners
This was another MPL that was written for an older version of Mystic. I have updated it, and made some changes to both the appearance and functionality.
Logoff Menu
Yet another older MPL that was converted to work with current Mystic versions. This MPL lets you leave a message for the last caller,
contains a small message board, view system bulletins, return to the
BBS, leave feedback, and yes, it will let you log off as well.
I also have my previous MPLs which include UserStats, which basically gives you a screen with all of your user stats. LastCallers, which lists the last 10 callers to the BBS.
Stop by and take a look. Let me know if you have any suggestions or questions about any of them. I hope to start releasing them soon, so be
on the lookout.
keep going. GREAT news BP... you know I'm a fan of your playground...

I knew you'd like that one. :) I made that when I was trying to get a handle on C. After watching your videos, I knew it would be a good one
for you. ;)
LOL, I've seen that there before and knew it had something to do with
you. :P

I wonder what I should put on my desktop for the next set of videos?
Gotta keep you on your toes :)
But first, you need to make more videos... :)

I'm running on Linux and try as I might Scrollz won't find the .ini
file. I'm using the full path and the permissions on the file seem correct. Anyideas?

Is the .ini file in your scripts directory? If so, just use the command 'scrollz scrollz.ini' and it should find it.
It should... but it doesn't. Maybe I'm missing an environemnt variable? In order to run any MPL I have to use the full path. So I have it setup as\mystic\themes\default\scripts\scrollz \mystic\themes\default\scripts\scrollz.ini (With forward slashes).

Thanks Paulie,
HSM, that's something else you can do to test it out. Try running it without the .ini file and see what happens. It does have default
settings so it should run with the 'Ad' message that's in there.
Did g00r00 ad marque type feature? If so where might I locate it.. I have upgraded to the latest pre-a

Hmmmm, that's strange. I have it set up here in Linux as:
scrollz scrollz.ini
You shouldn't need the entire path. Why would it need forward slashes?
Is you Theme path set properly in System Paths in mystic -cfg?

Let me know if that works for you.
Nope.
scrollz - nothing
scrollz scrollz.ini - nothing
/m/t/d/s/scrollz (with or without)scrollz.ini -nothing .
/m/t/d/s/scrollz /m/t/d/s/scrollz.ini - it works, but only displays the admessage and "cant read ini".

Yes he did. If you go to the Menu editor in mystic -cfg, and hit /S to
go into the settings, you'll see it towards the bottom of the window.
You can have one on every menu if you want to. ;)
The only thing I've found, is the 'Offset', which tells it how many
spaces to have between repeating the message, will only save '1'. So,
what I did, is add spaces to the end of the message. g00r00 did say it will be fixed in the next pre-release.
