    I'm curious, while checking out the various directories I see several files
    in my echomail/out directory. As far as I can tell my mail us all going out
    as it shoukd. So these files needed, or are they just leftovers?

    fidonet.001 fidonet.004 justanet.1fe micronet.26a retronet.050

    They are actually directories... and its where your outgoing mail waits for the specific FTNs.
