    Yes, I am still actually getting everything set up the way I want it, and trying to work my way through the config file. :)

    The basics of the golded.cfg file are pretty simple.

    snip>=-

    USERNAME Black Panther

    ADDRESS 1:317/3
    AKA 21:1/186

    AREASCAN *

    areadef FSX_MYS "FSXNet Mystic Discussion" fsx echo Jam /path/to/jam/msgbase 21:1/186

    snip<=-

    You would need to have all of your AKAs listed, along with a Username line for both your alias and real name.

    Then you just list your message areas. areadef tells GoldEd+ this is an area definition.

    That is followed by the echo tag for that echomail area.

    The part in quotes is what you want that area to be called in Golded+.

    After that, is a group id. As I copied my config from hpt, it uses the group id that I had established in hpt. It can be anything you want.

    Then there is the message base type. Is it echomail, netmail, local... If it's a netmail area, it would be 'net', or if it's a local area, 'local'.

    Then you have the path to your message areas. I have mine in groups within the mystic/msgs directory, so they are ~/mystic/msgs/fsxnet/fsx_mys, etc.

    The last part is your address for that message area. As this is FSXNet, it would be your FSXNet address.

    There is SO much more that can be put into the config, and I'm still working on a lot of that, but that is the basics to get you started. :)

    Great response... thx for taking the time!

    In lieu of shoveling snow, I'll spend my Saturday afternoon fumbling with
    the config file.

    Not presently but I have done that in the past.

    If you are running a recent A47 there is an export in mutil to export an areas.bbs. You can use that as a basis for your area setup.

    I've just realized this myself with Mystic A47 that MUTIL also exports a GoldEd areas file... [Export_GOLDED].

    I'm tinkering with it today to see if I can get it running.

    That's even better, I never noticed that before. I just ran it and it says it exported 241 areas so I'll have to plug that into golded and see what I get.
