I'm having an issue when anyone logs into the BBS and it tells them
they have new messages and asks if you want to read them. If you
    select yes (any security level)

Is this for local messages in the E-mail base (ID 1)?

If so, make sure the "Read ACS" is either set to ^ or blank, mine looks like this:

    List ACS ^g1
    Read ACS

    ^ = True
    % = False

This will allow anyone to read messages (addressed to them) no matter which group they belong to, but only list the base if they're part of group 1.

    Hi All,

I'm having an issue when anyone logs into the BBS and it tells them they have new messages and asks if you want to read them. If you select yes (any security level), it then says you do not have permissions to read them and proceeds to the main menu. I've searched for a solution online and in here, but I'm not finding it. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm
    sure it's something simple.

    Thank You,

    Robert

That did it. Thank You so much. I've been pulling my hair out for awhile
now trying to figure this one out.

    Take Care,

I believe you have to make sure the message group the users are in matches the one with email... the setting is in Mystic -cfg General Settings, New User Settings- This will fix the issue for new users.

Others, to fix the issue with current users, put a command in PRELOGIN to move users to the first message conference.

I think I posted that all correctly.

yikes.. i don't think you should change a user's current group.. especially if they're not subscribed to anything else in the (let's say..) local group.

this is likely why e-mail is set not to list anywhere at all by default (and works fine that way)
