• Accessing my board

From hbag@21:2/150 to All on Sun Jul 9 13:45:15 2023
Alright, this might be a stupid question, but... I'm having trouble remotely accessing my board.

I got Mystic installed, all the settings configured, all that, but I can't seem to connect remotely, as if it's just spinning up the board whenever I run ./mystic -l.

At first, I thought it was just Cloudflare being a dick, but I'm still having the problem when I try the IP directly. The telnet server *is* running, according to the configuration menu. I looked at the wiki, and I don't see anything about setting up a system service, but I could be wrong.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    CONFIG: SERVERS:
    ACTIVE (YES)
    ID (TELNET)
IPV4 ADAPTER (the IP of the LAN for this PC/install - IFCONFIG for linux or IPCONFIG for windows)
PORT (23 is default / others may run 2323 or 62323 like myself)

After you confirm that, then your local telnet program (NetRunner for example) needs to access IPV4 ADAPTER (and the port if not 23)

eg. lets say your local mystic is on a PC who's IP is 192.168.1.68 and you are using the default PORT (23).
than NetRunner will DIAL 192.168.11.68 or even 192.168.11.68:23

if you are attempting to access from the outside world (aka Internet), then you must also make sure you have a port forward from your internet provider on the router/modem .. create a port forward to that IP (192.168.11.68) for TELNET (port 23).

Which port do you have your telnet server set to? If it's 23 you'll need to run mis with sudo for that to work.

    oof no, bad advice

run mystic on whatever port >= 1024 and use the firewall to forward from 23 to that port..

if your mystic needs root, something is configured poorly.

I realize that, mine is configured on port 2323. This was a suggestion to test whether they were < 1024 which could be why their telnet isn't answering.
