Neat! I love these projects. Something like this would be great for running doorgames - all the ntvdm and dosemu hacks (windows and linux, respectively) are close but not perfect.

Alas, I have a DOS/Win98 gaming rig with legit period correct hardware, but I must say, this has caught my attention...

I have seen this, and really like it. There have been a few other 'tiny 486' builds, but nothing with parts as available (and/or documented) as the Tiny Llama.

I have way too many projects in the pipeline, but I do hope I can get to this one at some point. For me, 486s were the peak of 'back in the day' computing and I'd really like a 486 solution that wasn't reliant on retro hardware (and form).

This one looks rad - is anyone thinking about putting one together?

I may at some point, when I have more time. Right now I have too much going on with my car build to have time to work on building the board also.

Man... I remember that place. Once a co-worked and I stopped there for a meeting at the University and needed gas on the way out. We were empty so we agreed to throw in $80... so we gassed up and headed out.

An hour down the road he asked me for $40, my half... I laughed and said yea right... we both paid. Yay, kalamazoo gas station attendant. :P

I'm considering going down the path fo building one of these just for fun. I think a ultra small 486 perhaps with some 3D printed retro enclosure work would rock

When I first read that subject, I was all ready for someone with an AT board and a circular saw...

I can't say I've seen to many "project" boards. But as Clint says "A mans
got to know his limitations" and surface mount components are perenially
beyond me, I'd have trouble seeing them these days.

Can't supply the details, but I have seen the odd board come around before fully assembled, but they tended to get expensive for what they were at the time.

    It does look interesting though.
