Finally got aorund to seeing the latest Marv3l joint, Thor. Huge fan of the director, he's done some awesome film and TV (from Avon's part of the world!) -- "What We Do In the Shadows" and "Our Flag Means Death" are pretty fresh and laugh-out-loud. Unexpectedly so.

But Thor? Yeah, it was... Just OK. Not bad, but not amazing. I *could* be just burned out on the whole superhero thing, but I left a bit underwhelemed, same with wife +kid.

Thor gets to do his 'himbo' thing, Christian Bale is pretty terrifying as
the god-killin' villian, but it doesn't really hold up next to the last Thor comedy, I mean movie. Kind of feels like maybe iut's just a lull/filler between the next big phase -- some new/old X-Men, Fantastic 4, Teh Marvels, Inhumans, etc. Looking forward to those new distractions!

Hoping GotG3 gets my Marvel groove back :)

... I'm easy to please as long as I get my way.

Yeah, I went and watched it last night, and came away with pretty much
    the same thoughts.

The most amazing thing was being in some really comfy chairs and being
able to stretch out the legs. They changed the cinima at the last minute
    to a bigger one!

    It wasn't even a quarter full... #-)

I've heard it's so so, we have Disney+ here at home and it's soon to come out on that platform when Disney do their Disney Day thing... actually it might be out by the time I am replying to this... hmm..

Anywhoo, yeah I think the Thor train has lost it's mojo and

The director I agree has done a lot to put New Zealand on the film map (I guess much like Peter jackson). .. but to be honest his sense of humor and his style of speaking I hear this a lot already in New Zealand... so it's like he managed to take something fairly common but not well know overseas and export it / give it some sunshine to the rest of the planet?? Just my take.

What I notice is when Taika?? is involved in a project a lot of the characters he plays/voices all start to sound or behave the same way... there was one the other day on Disney (Lightyear) and he played a character in that film... well voiced it, and I thought he sound just like a few other characters I have seen him play... that rock creature in Thor (sorry can't recall his name)...
