    Brown sugar is white sugar with molasses added to it, so there's no real difference.

    If you want healthier, try raw sugar, coconut sugar, or raw honey.

    If you need a lower glycemic index, there are stevia, monk fruit extract, xylitol, and
    saccharin.

    There are also aspartame (Equal) and sucralose (Splenda), but both have had some
    reported adverse reactions in some people.

    And no, saccharin doesn t cause cancer. The studies were paid for by the sugar industry
    and were rigged.

    You would have to drink a case of diet soda a day for months to get the amount they
    gave those lab animals.

    It's been proven that white sugar is carcinogenic in lesser amounts than saccharin. It
    does, however, have an aftertaste that bugs many people until/unless they use it long
    enough to get used to it.
